Students may want a parent(s)/guardian to assist with aspects of their scholarships and awards application and information. In accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (Alberta), Alberta Student Aid requires written consent to share personal information with a parent(s)/guardian.
High school awards counselors should inform students that a Consent to Disclose Personal Information form must be completed and submitted to Alberta Student Aid to disclose their personal information to a designated individual.
The Consent to Disclose Personal Information form is available at:

Scholarships Available for Holiday Break

With the Holiday break approaching, we wanted to share a list of scholarships that are available to students over the break.

Not all awards will apply to all students. For students to get a list customized to them and weekly email reminders of deadlines, they should create a profile on ScholarTree. At the top left, they can use the filter "Applications Open" to only see those scholarships that are currently accepting applications.

Scholarship Information ...

In addition to completing university and college applications and finishing school with a strong academic average, high school seniors should also devote some time to apply for scholarships. They are an excellent way to supplement the cost of tuitionroom and boardbooks and other expenses and the best part is that they don’t have to be paid back. EVER. That’s free money, people...why not take advantage of it?

If the thought of winning a scholarship seems impossible, you’re probably not looking in the right places. Sure, there will be lots of competition but if you only apply for the scholarships that pertain specifically to you and your unique situation, your chances of winning increase significantly. Check out the links to some popular scholarship databases below, set up a unique profile, and you will find plenty of scholarships you will be eligible for; some are easy, some require work and some are downright strange but you won’t receive any awards unless you apply...so get started!
