In December of 2021, requests for proposals to become designated as a FarmEd Pilot School by the Rural Development Network were invited. PBHS enthusiastically submitted a proposal and was designated as a pilot school in January of 2022. From that point, the program has continued to only grow. PBHS now operates in the areas of: aquaponics, hydroponics, greenhouse operations, apiculture, and poultry livestock. Two of the founding principles at the core of this program are that learning must be both hands on and centred on problem solving.
